Commercial Photography Portfolio

  • Photography for Ad Agencies

Every shoot for ad agencies is unique. Some require serious preproduction and location scouting while others end up with elabourate sets. One of the biggest components of commercial photography these days is compositing the images into one final vision. Having an understanding of specialized software for handling complex digital projects (beyond photoshop) has come in handy on more than one occasion.

  • I've been fortunate to work with some of the top award winning agencies (who have won me awards, so thanks for that) in Calgary and Toronto from boutique to the interplanetary. It's always a blast working with ridiculously talented advertising folks who see exactly where the photo is going and have an understanding of what it will take to get there. It's always a pleasure to team up with Art Directors who are as passionate about the image as I am.
  • Campaign Photography for Direct Clients

Many of my clients are direct. "Direct" meaning the company that is the end user of the photography is the same company that sends me a cheque for the job. One of the big advantages of ranking rather well in the photography world is that many of these people have found me through the marvels of the intertubes. Since Calgary is unique in it's access to wilderness, praire and urban settings the photographic posibilities are limitless. Unless it's -40 out. Then we stay inside. Direct clients typically need commercial photography to promote their products on an ongoing basis. Often the creative is handled in-house which results in a co-operative approach to making the image. They can involve a celebrity that needs to be photographed for a national campaign, or documentary style "run and gun" shooting. Whatever they need, I'm happy to photograph.
