Fashion Photographer Noah Fallis - Portfolio

  • Editorial Fashion Photography

Strong concept and environmental creative is what makes for a good editorial. The photos should tell a story. Although in the fashion world, that story is usually filled with sexually charged ambiguity and apathy. Why is that model in a forest with that outfit on? Who knows, the lighting is spooky and she is beautiful so no-one cares. As a photographer editorials are an unfenced playground of creativity who primary purpose is to sell magazines (or online subscriptions). That and we get to flex a few lighting muscles here and there.

  • Catalogue and Direct Client Photography

Many of my fashion photography clients are direct clients. I've done work for Sport Chek, Athletes World and Mark's Work Warehouse plus a bunch of other designers. Most of these shoots involve multi-day location shoots in the mountains (Banff, Lake Louise and Whistler are very popular with Sport Chek). They tend to be hard work and yield thousands of images to edit, but are also a lot of fun.

  • Look Book Photography for Fashion Designers

Twice a season there is a big demand for Look Books to be photographed. A Look Book is just that... A book of looks the designer has created. Many of my clients I have now have been with me for years and I'm very grateful for their business as we often get to mix in a bit of editorial shooting with the "standard" look book photography.

  • Fashion Photography just for fun

As a photographer shooting just for fun is a great way to experiment with new lighting techniques and to try creative shoots you might not be able to do otherwise. I have an idea book full of these kinds of lighting and conceptual experiments and am trying to pick through them, one by one. I'm a big fan of beauty and fashion so any excuse I have to make images that incorporate both elements, I do.
