Natural lighting not hyper lighting.
Having pools of light the guide the eye through the frame certainly helps the photograph be more refined, however I don't beleive that the lighting should take over the primary subject matter, especially with architectural photos. I've seen techniques of super stylized lighting and while it's interesting to look at, it looks nothing like what you would see with your own eyes. That can be a serious issue especially in the hotel industry. With this show home photo I wanted to show the kitchen cabinent details while allowing for the ambient light to fill in where needed to keep the feel relatively natural.
